There are multiple reasons why a misfire occurred, faulty spark plugs or ignition coils might be the reason behind this. There is also the possibility that the fuel pressure regulator is malfunctioning which causes the misfire, or it might be because of a clogged fuel injector. You can diagnose the problem on your own if you have your scanner, but the dealer will most probably say the same things. The dealer should check if the cylinders are working properly or not, check the ignition coil, and check the fuel, and compression pressure. You might also want to conduct a vacuum leak test or let the dealer check if there are mechanical problems in the system. The car just died and I got a “Misfire occured, schedule service”. The EV got me to where I needed to be, but anyone else having this issue? What was the fix? What is the dealer going to do?
