I recently got stuck in rush hour traffic on my way to the airport and decided to test out the Stop and Go feature with Adaptive Cruise Control in my Lincoln Nautilus. It worked, but it didn’t feel totally smooth.
Here’s how it went:
✔ Activated Adaptive Cruise Control at a stop and pressed Resume. It set my speed to 20MPH automatically.
✔ Car followed traffic and slowed/stopped on its own.
✔ After 4-5 seconds at a complete stop, I had to manually press Resume to get going again.
A couple of things I noticed:
If the Gap setting is too high (3-4 bars), there’s a huge space in front, making it easy for other cars to cut in, causing sudden braking.
Setting the Gap to 1 seemed to work better and kept things smoother.
Has anyone else tried Stop and Go in heavy traffic? Does it feel smooth for you, or is it a bit clunky?
